Today’s post shares 15 Blouses that you’ll love for your WFH Wear look

I love blouses for the fall! They look put together, have accessorizing options galore, and can be mix-and-match for whatever bottom you feel like. Jeans, skirts, leggings, slacks, you name it … a beautiful blouse works!
What is really important now, given our latest reality, is how well blouses work for your “WFH Wear”.

What is WFH Wear?
COVID-19, it’s done a whopper on our lifestyle. Temporary? Permanent? The effect these necessary-for-now changes will have on our long-term way of life is up in the air as I write this post. Yet what I think we can all agree is that more people will have a full-time or hybrid work from home situation.
Businesses are finding that remote arrangements can work for their organizational goals and their employees. And while there are challenges as we get used to how this affects our home life, the opportunities for our wardrobe are AWESOME!
The canvas for how you now present yourself is suddenly the size of your monitor. Heels? Oh man, don’t you love how walking into a meeting in a fantastic pair of heels would make you feel?
Back in the day … a story about the impact of 4″ heels
Let me digress for a moment and share a memory. For about 18-months I worked in the fleet leasing industry (yeah, don’t even ask). I was requested to attend a meeting at the Milwaukee Athletic Club, which is a moderately swanky type of place. As such, I dressed upscale in a black pants suit and 4′ boots.
As it happened, these short boots had a really narrow heel BUT they were one of my most comfortable pairs of shoes. Go figure, may they RIP as they heel died three years ago.
Back to my story … anyway, I walked into this meeting right at the start and ALL of the 125 people attending the meeting were 50+(ish) MEN. ALL, not a single woman! Only the bathroom attendant and the woman giving out the name badges were women. (I know, another subject entirely.)
Thank the Lord for those shoes!
As soon as I scanned the room and realized my situation, I straightened my back even more, lifted my chin, and strutted into that room with those crazy LOVE ‘EM heels.
Oh, the confidence a great pair of shoes can give!
BUT, back to today, now nobody sees your feet! They don’t see your lower half at all. That’s both good and bad.
Making the most of WFH Wear
Now that only your upper torso, neck, and head are on view for the majority of your clients and co-workers to see, it’s uber important to knock it out of the park with your top half.
I mean your top, accessories, makeup, glasses, hair, and the room you’re sitting in all need serious consideration.
This won’t happen all at once. Yet, what you can transform almost INSTANTLY is your clothing. You can get a few well-positioned tops that will look fantastic on screen and also double as perfect for going out into the world (with a mask, of course).
I’m starting with blouses for this first post. Given the trend of WFH Wear, this is going to be a series for at least a while so we can go through all of it. Yes, the tops, accessories, makeup, glasses, hair, and the room you’re sitting in all need work.
What to look for in WFH Wear ( 15 Blouses do it!)
Most of use need our tops to possess a few attributes.
- Look professional and polished.
- Be comfortable.
- Have room for movement.
- Make a statement.
- Flatters the face and surroundings.
The first bullet is pretty obvious. Even though you may be at home with slippers on your feet, you want to maintain the professional image you’ve worked to achieve. Professional doesn’t have to mean boring though. So many of our work environments have gone business casual, so options are there. Be brave. Try something a little out of your comfort zone that’s impactful!
Comfort has newfound importance. If you’re at home, you’re probably there with children learning remotely, pets who pull on you, and chores that (yes) you try to sneak in throughout the day. This is also why you need room for movement.
Make a statement … well, we don’t have those shoes anymore. Nor do we have our pants, skirts, bags, or strut. All we have is what’s seen in the monitor. Since we’re taking this one-step-at-a-time, you may not have time to get your accessories perfect yet. If you have a great blouse, then you can keep the accessories simple to start.
Flattering our skin tone has always been important in choosing your clothing. Now, since we can control our background, choosing clothing that flatters our skin AND our surroundings is a real thing! At least that’s one good thing. Florescent lights might not make you look washed out or green!
15 Blouse WFH WEar options
I’ve searched some of my favorite shops and have found a decent selection of blouses that meet all of the requirements I’ve listed above. Well, except for the last as that’s to independent of your unique face and surroundings (we can work on the surroundings).
These not only will look great on the monitor and give you a polished appearance, they also transition out to dinner as well.
Depending on your industry, a few of these may be too casual or feminine for your style. Yet consider them as a starting point. They are in the stores NOW. If you’re reading this hot off the presses then you can click the image and be whisked away to the shop to purchase. IF you’re reading this after these styles have left the store then use this as inspiration. OR better yet, email me to update this post!! Ha, get my butt working (right!?).

Have a fantastic week! Namaste,

I work from home full time but still do conference calls from home. So I need to be comfortable yet professional. Good recommendations.
Tammy, I couldn’t agree more with my schedule! Right now, I’m dressed to go workout but at 2:00 I have a Zoom so I have to “transform” into a real person. haha.
