Today’s post takes you with me as I try on 5 Target dresses for Fall I found for under $35!

The other day, while shopping at Target for a completely unrelated post, I strayed off my path and into the clothing section. I was drawn in by the first dress you see above. That was a hole I should never have entered! Damn, that Target dress buyer … (excuse my French).
So I admit, I have a bit of a shopping problem. Usually, it’s fabric or something for my studio but lately, it’s been dresses! I can’t seem to get enough of them.
Knowing me, this will dry up as soon as the weather gets cold. But for now, I’m all about DRESSES!
Within a span of 3 minutes or so, I had these 5 Target dresses in my cart. I generally prefer to try them on at home, so along they went with me. Oy!
I told myself that I’m helping YOU by bringing all of these home! It’s not for me, it’s for YOU!! (yes, eye roll please)
So at least, shop with me. If you get one and I get one, then we’re just having a fun day getting to know each other better.
I’ll make some suggestions. You make some comments. And together, we’ll figure this thing out! No guilt. No judgment. After all, these Target dresses are all under $35! We’re just a couple of gals having a good ol’ time without breaking the bank!

Target Dress 1: The One with Memories
This dress was put in my cart only because I saw one similar on another blogger and it looked great on her. Now, this other blogger and I don’t share the same figure type so I’m not sure what I was thinking. She was petite, smaller chest … okay, she was smaller all over, lol.
When I was smaller too, I LOVED shirt dresses. Whether tied with a belt, sweater, or just left plain they were so easy. I guess maybe this one feels a little dated because I used to wear them so much.
The fact that it needs to be ironed also is a factor as I’m very judgy on myself about ironing.
So I did my best to play the model. Looking front and side, then belted.
The fabric is a light brushed synthetic that, unlike cotton shirt dresses, I don’t think will work with sneakers well. This is what I would probably pair up with it:
Target Dress 2: Wrap dress – this is what started it all
I think I was drawn to this one because it reminds me of the dresses I see Brooke Giannetti wear in a lot of her IGTV videos. If you read my other posts, Brooke is the author of Patina Farms, the book I absolutely LOVED. Here’s a post I did when I shared this lovely hardcover gem.
Can you tell how influenced I am by people I see?! I guess we’re all like that to a varying degree. I digress …
While this dress is super versatile, for some reason I thought of how nice it would be to wear as a cover up over my yoga clothes as I go to give my class. So, as long as the weather holds, I think I would pair this one up with a bit of a random selection:
Target dress 3: pure potential
Okay, hear me out on this one. . . I know, it looks HUGE. Well, it IS huge haha. Yet there was something about it that made me think that it would look much better on ME than on the hanger.
When I put it on, the button at the neck almost had me saying, “NO WAY!” But then I started twirling a bit in front of the mirror. Moving my arms here and there, allowing it to grow on me.
I like it with one hand on my hip. I do.
Yet when I looked at the pics, hmmm. As soon as that hand comes off it’s definitely a big question mark.
Maybe for someone, perhaps yourself, with a smaller chest, this would TOTALLY work. Also, if you’re drawn to this little gem’s potential then I suggest buying a size smaller. This is a medium and I really should have bought a small.
Thinking how I would style this girlie, here is what I’m thinking … she’s too girlie! She needs to toughen up just a bit. Get a little edge, but not too much.
I’ve also thought about the undergarments on this number. A bodysuit is definitely in order to keep the breezes to a minimum!
And if you’re thinking, Allison would never wear that … oh how wrong you are! I love to go a little edgy especially when I’m traveling to NYC or Chicago!
Target dress 4: Sweet sunshine
Now this one caught me off guard. Yellow is one hard color to wear, yet I love the little floral and the small ruffles. I think the rust tones mixed in help with the yellow on the skin.
It gets an A+ for comfort and it has pockets, so BIG points! When it comes to styling, like the last one, I think this little lady is a little too sweet for me as is. Not a lot is needed but just a little.
I’m keeping the styling simple for this outfit. Take a look at what I’ve chosen:
This is a perfect transitional fall look. Take off the layers for those unexpected warm days filled with sunshine. Put them back on when the afternoon turns cool! LOVE!!
Target Dress 5: mamma Jane
The color is blah, the style reminds me a bit of a moo-moo dress, and I normally don’t like this type of split-neck collar … BUT I really like this one. After all, if the Target dress buyer thinks it’s a winner, I should at least be objective!
Maybe it’s the puffy sleeves just to the elbows?
Or that the color is surprisingly very flattering on a lot of skin tones. I swirled in front of the mirror for a while contemplating how to wear this dress. After all, the moo moo tendencies need to be squashed asap!
I’ve got it. What do you think?
Now it’s time to vote!

I’m really excited to see what you have to say about these amazing Target dresses. And yes, they’re all under $35!! Steal!
That’s all for today, my friend! Namaste,

Love your picks!!!! Such cute finds for Fall. Now I want to go shopping!
Hi Misty! I know … I’m doing a shopping day tomorrow as I travel to an appointment and I’m worried. I’m in the mood for some fun fall finds and that’s not always a good thing 😉
I love these! So cute for fall!
Thanks, Morgan! I know they would look adorable on YOU! Your blog pics are fantastic 🥰
Tough decisions, but I think the wrap dress is my favorite! I love Target dresses … and other clothing for inexpensive and casual everyday options! xo
Hi Juliet, I love your website btw! I’m a stickler for buying really exceptional quality (even at a cost) for the basic essentials that will be in our closet for years. Yet for those pieces that will be a favorite for a year or two and then will find their way out of our rotation, I’m all about the sneaky finds … such as Target! Thanks for your comment!
My favorite is dress #4. You’ve motivated me to make a trip to Target to check out what they have for fall.
Let’s let Target know!
These are such fun dresses, and I love what you picked to go with them!
Thanks, Danielle! They are fun, aren’t they? Target is doing a great job in their dress department. I think they should hire me as a stylist, lol.
I love all of these. So feminine!
I agree, yet I think they aren’t TOO frilly. That’s what I like about them.
Love the wrap dress…maybe not the color, but it looks lovely on you…bet it comes in other colors…Good finds!
Jeanne, it’s funny, I normally don’t like that color either. Yet in this dress I do. Yes, they have other colors as well!
I love #5. The color looks great on you!
That seems to be the winner, Jennifer! Now, which one are you getting? It’s no fun to shop along (well, actually it is but it’s MORE fun to shop with friends!).
This is the funnest dress shopping I’ve had in a long time. Thanks for being confident enough to have fun with even those styles that didn’t work for you. I love that attitude!!!
I am surprised at myself, but i vote for the last one. The non-moo moo, moo moo.
It seems to be a popular choice! (Truth … I’m keeping two of them but that’s our secret!)
Love the last dress the best- I’m trying to find in my size but seems to be sold out so I’ll have to search another location! I like the off white dress too and love boot and earring pairs!!! Poor me I actually have to go to Target today so I may have to veer ofc course time check out the dresses!!
I hope I gave you some inspiration, at least! 😉 Target is a dangerous place!
Great collection of clothes and accessories. I do like the first one especially that it has pockets! The last one with the moo moo look adn eyelet is really cute too. Nice falls color and breezy for hot days.
The pockets! Right!? If a dress has pockets, it’s rating with me soars!!
These dresses are too cute! I will have to go check out their selection!
Head over to LIKEtoKNOW.it and shop from there! Easy-peasy!
All great dresses. I love the way you’ve made suggestions for styling them.
Thanks, Carol! It’s so fun!
You look absolutely GORGEOUS in every single dress. I can’t truly pick a favorite, but if someone were twisting my arm and making me, I would pick Mama Jane. I think it’s a wonderful dress for the fall.
Me too! I’m definitely leaning toward that one DESPITE my initial reservations. Mary Beth, you may have just convinced me! Now, which one are YOU getting?? lol.
I love the long pink one and those flowery earrings!
Yes! The earrings! It’s like they’re destined for each other. ♥️
